There are many women empowerment companies working for the empowerment of girls and elderly females to have their social rights. Governments and local organizations in different countries have come forward and arranged a women empowerment conference yearly.
UN Women Conferences
There are serious of initiatives all over the world for highlighting female issues and concerns. United Nations have been working for women’s rights since long ago. UN has organized four main women’s conferences took place in:
- Mexico in 1975
- Copenhagen in 1980
- Nairobi in 1985
- Beijing in 1995
Beijing conference
It was held in 1995 as “the fourth world conference on women”. Their main agenda was gender equality around the globe. A total of 189 countries took part in the agreement for women’s empowerment. They talked about women’s rights and status in society by giving them an equal place as men following the below standards.

- Women health
- Domestic violence
- Women poverty
- Women in the national economy
- Women’s leadership and decision-making ability
- Human rights for women
- Girl child protection
Mexico conference
It was held in 1975 as the “commission on the status of women”. A total of 133 nations and 6000 NGOs represented a forum as an “international women year tribute”. This conference was based on the objectives of women’s empowerment programs and initiatives.
Copenhagen conference
It was held in 1980 and named as “world conference of the United Nations decades for women”. It was aimed to implement the narrative of the first women’s conference, employment of women, women’s health, and girl’s education. This conference emphasizes the property rights and ownership of women, child custody for mothers, and rights in inheritance.
Nairobi conference
It was held in 1985 and was named as a “world conference to review and appraise the achievements of the UN decade for women”. There were 157 countries with 1900 representatives and different NGOs having 12000 participants. This conference was aimed to highlight gender equality and women’s participation in peacebuilding.
Recent events
In 2000, to appreciate and implement the Beijing conference attributes, the general assembly held a 5yr review session was conducted in New York. It includes gender equality, the role of women in peace, business development skills of women.
In 2005, to assess the Beijing conference implementation, 49th sessions of 10yrs review were conducted. The delegates ensured the international implementation of women empowerment conferences.
In 2010, to achieve selected goals for women’s rights, gender equality there was the 54th session of 15yrs review. There was a declaration to enforce the execution of human rights.
In 2015, to ensure women empowerment in the development agenda, there was 59th session of 20yrs review was conducted. This session, participant countries embraced a political declaration for gender equality.
In 2020, to implement all the above declarations and agreements, the 66th session of 25yrs review was conducted.

The main objective of organizing a women empowerment conference was to ensure a complete and safe environment for women to generate lead in their society.
